Among Us: Master the Art of Lying and Bluffing as the Ultimate Impostor

You just killed a crewmate. Great. Then you look up and lock eyes with another one.
Well… not so great.  

But hey, you’ve got something on your side — and it’s not luck (If it were, you wouldn’t be in this mess to begin with.) It’s your gaslighting skills. So- DENY, DENY, DENY- after all even a broken clock is right twice a day.

So, Here’s how to lie, bluff, and gaslight your way to a flawless Impostor victory. Remember, just because you are sus- doesn’t mean you can't make others look sussier.

 

1. Lie Like You Breathe – Naturally

No one likes tryhards. Good liars keep it chill. They don’t stumble over every word like they’re reading a script they just memorized. Keep your voice steady, use casual language, and whatever you do – don’t over-explain (They’re not your parents). The more you justify, the guiltier you sound.

2. Mirror Them

Ever heard of mirroring? It’s a psychological trick where you subtly copy others’ behavior to build trust. Watch how actual crewmates talk — tone, pacing, word choice and blend in. Yet, don't make it too obvious or they will think you’re mocking them!

3. Plant Doubt, Not Chaos

You don’t need to scream “BLUE IS SUS!” every time someone looks at you funny. Smart bluffers plant doubt – not drama. “ *insert random teammate* Wasn’t Blue near the body earlier?” That’s it. Let paranoia do the rest.

4. Control Your Alibi

Lying without a plan? Now, that’s bold and dumb. The best bluffers always know:

• Where they were.

• What task they were doing.

• Who saw them (even if no one did).

If you’re fumbling for answers mid-meeting, it’s game over.

5. Know When to Hold Your Tongue

Although harsh, silence is power; power you won’t have if you're booted off. A well-timed pause, a casual “Hmm, weird,” or even staying muted for a bit can make people forget you’re even in the game – until it’s too late.
