Apex Legends May 2025 Update Brings Legend Reworks, Titanfall Mode & Storm Point Changes

Discover what's new in Apex Legends May 2025 update, including legend changes, Titanfall Takeover mode, map updates, weapon tweaks, and more.

Respawn has put out the new update for Apex Legends this May 2025, and it’s kinda big but also a bit confusing in places. Some of the changes make sense, others might take a while to get used to. Either way, a lot is happening: legends got changed, there’s a new mode, and Storm Point looks different again. Let’s try to go through what’s in it.

Apex Legends May 2025 Update: Legends Get Tweaked, Some More Than Others

Right off, Revenant’s abilities been switched up. Now instead of the silence, he does this move called Shadow Pounce which is like a leap but much more aggressive-feeling. It helps him rush people more easily, but it’s not clear if it makes him too strong or just different.

Lifeline got her revive shield back, kind of. It’s not automatic though—you have to use it manually and it has a cooldown now. Not everyone will be happy with that but at least it’s something.

Also, Horizon can’t go quite as high with her lift anymore. People were saying she was too powerful in vertical fights, so maybe this fixes it. Newcastle got his shield moving faster, so he might actually get picked more.

Titanfall Mode Makes an Appearance

There’s a new limited mode too, called Titanfall Takeover, and it feels a bit like a nod to older fans. You don’t get actual Titans but you can use these things called Titan cores which gives you extra armor and unique powers for a bit. There are also parts of the map with wall-running, and some AI enemies like Spectres show up too.

This mode seems more fun than balanced, and the new skins that came with it look nice. Pathfinder, Valkyrie, and Bangalore got those Titan-inspired outfits, which are detailed more than usual.

Storm Point Has Been Changed Up Again

Storm Point, which has always had kind of mixed feelings from players, got changed again. The area around the Barometer and Lightning Rod has been reshaped. They said it’s to help with rotations and reduce ambushes, which does seem better on paper.

A new POI, Cliffside Observatory, was added in the update. It’s got a lot of zip lines and high-tier loot, so it’s probably going to be a hot drop spot for a while.

Guns Adjusted, Quality Stuff Added

Weapons got some updates too. Flatline is easier to handle now with its recoil fixed a little. Wingman now takes heavy ammo again, which people have been asking about. And a new SMG, Volt Mark II, got added. It shoots slower but stronger and seems better for mid-range.

Some quality-of-life stuff also came with this patch. There’s a new way to change the HUD, better pinging options, and looting when teammates are down got sped up. Small things but they add up.

This May update isn’t the most dramatic Apex has ever had, but it does shake things enough to feel fresh. Some changes might take time to get used to—especially Revenant and the new mode—but overall it feels like Respawn is trying to mix nostalgia with balance. How it plays out in ranked, though, we’ll have to wait and see.
