Assassin’s Creed Shadows Leak Hints at Epic Games Achievements Support

A new leak suggests Assassin’s Creed Shadows could be the first Ubisoft game to support Epic Games achievements on PC. Find out what this means for players and future Ubisoft titles.

A fresh leak from the Epic Games Store suggests that Assassin’s Creed Shadows could be the first Ubisoft-published game to support Epic Games achievements on PC. If true, this would mark a big shift for Ubisoft titles on the platform and could open the door for more games to follow suit.

A Long-Awaited Ninja Assassin’s Creed

Releasing on March 20, 2025, for PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC, Assassin’s Creed Shadows is shaping up to be one of the most hyped entries in the series. Fans have been asking for a ninja-themed Assassin’s Creed game for years, and now, Ubisoft is delivering with a unique twist—two playable characters: samurai Yasuke and ninja Naoe.

With its blend of stealth and swordplay, Shadows joins the growing lineup of open-world samurai games, but its signature Assassin’s Creed mechanics should help it carve out its own identity.

Epic Games Achievements Might Finally Get Some Love

According to a leak from the Epic Games Database Twitter account, Assassin’s Creed Shadows has been spotted with placeholder achievements, hinting at official support at launch.

Epic introduced its achievement system in 2021, but so far, it’s been mostly limited to Epic-owned games like Rocket League. If Shadows includes Epic Games achievements, it could mean bigger third-party titles will start supporting the system, making it more appealing to dedicated completionists.

What This Means for PC Players

So far, online reactions have been mostly positive. Many players are excited to see Epic Games achievements get more support, especially since Steam achievements are already confirmed for Shadows.

Some fans, however, worry that this change could make the Epic Games Store launcher mandatory for Ubisoft titles. In the past, games like Watch Dogs 2 and The Division 2 allowed players to bypass the Epic launcher and run them directly through Ubisoft Connect—but this could change.

Meanwhile, others are hoping that Ubisoft will retroactively add Epic achievements to their older games on the platform, giving players another reason to revisit their favorite titles.

With achievement systems becoming a must-have feature across gaming platforms, it makes sense that Ubisoft and Epic might finally be stepping up to give players more ways to track their progress.
