Ubisoft has just released the Title Update 1.0.5 for Assassin’s Creed Shadows, which has been receiving mixed opinions from the community. This update is aiming to fix several things while adding some new features. The game, which launched recently, continues getting refined.
Better Parkour Now
One of the big focus this time was on the parkour. Some players was complaining about how clunky it felt, so the developers added changes to make the movements more fluid. Like, when characters jump between ledges or climbs walls, it's supposed to look and feel more natural now.
Sometimes players get stuck on objects or couldn’t climb over small fences, which was annoying, that’s also been fixed partly. Still, not everything is perfect. But they said there will be more movement updates later in another patch so this ain’t the last of it.
Photo Mode Got More Tools
The new update also bring some updates to Photo Mode, which a lot of players will probably enjoy. There are now new filters and depth-of-field options. It allows you to play around with light, contrast and even lets you change the focus.
A free camera was added too. Before you had to stay kinda close to your character, but now you can roam the camera around more freely. This lets you capture wider scenes, or dramatic angles you couldn’t get before.
Combat Adjustments & Smarter AI
Combat has been tweaked a little. Enemies are a bit more aware during stealth, so sneaking up is slightly harder than before. Some of them now have better patrol paths and reacts faster to noise and movement.
Weapon hit registration is also changed, especially on katanas and spear. Players were reporting attacks going through enemies without hitting, that’s now supposed to be improved. Timing during fights might feel more accurate.
Fixes and Performance Work
This update brings a bunch of bug fixes. NPCs used to T-pose after certain cutscenes but that’s been addressed. Other small bugs like floating textures, broken shadows and dialogue not triggering are being looked at too.
Console versions now runs more steady, with PS5 and Xbox Series X showing better frame rates. On PC, if you’re using SSD, loading is a little faster now. DLSS and FSR got better support too, which help performance.
More to Come Soon
Ubisoft said more features is coming soon, like customization updates and gear loadout system. There’s also going to be some seasonal content or event coming up soon, which they haven’t revealed details about yet.
