Battlefield 6 Leaks Reveal Game Skins and Strong Player Interest on Steam

Following the recent datamine leaks, we now know that there are a lot of skin options scheduled for different factions in Battlefield 6. For operator skins, there is a heavy emphasis on authentic military aesthetic.

Battlefield 6 certainly seems to be stirring a lot of excitement around the series, and recent leaks have shown players a lot of what they can expect in terms of visuals and how incredibly well the game has gone over with players. The leaks seem to insinuate returning to the series' roots, taking a more military, realistic approach to its design.

The official multiplayer reveal is already rumored to require players to stay somewhat committed to tuning in to the official event on July 31; it's likely to keep some of the hype going for the title. Battlefield 6 is set to release in October, arriving on PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S, and PC.

Battlefield 6 Leaks Reveal Upcoming Skins

Following the recent datamine leaks, we now know that there are a lot of skin options scheduled for different factions in Battlefield 6. For operator skins, there is a heavy emphasis on authentic military aesthetics that are similar to real-world military outfits. The emphasis seems to be on camouflage patterns and realistic military fatigues. This is consistent with what we have come to expect from the Battlefield franchise in consistently high-detail soldier armor and realistic battlefield conditions. The leaks contained over 20 realistic operator skins, including complete squad sets and individual soldier configurations. Unlike certain skin cosmetics we see in some current shooters, the Battlefield 6 operator skins distinctly maintain a serious and grounded direction. Some of the skins are specific to certain regional or environmental effects, like desert camo or ghillie suits, with realistic military loadouts.

Although the leaked photos are limited to operator skins, it seems there will be a skin for the four different classes available in the game. This design philosophy leads me to believe that DICE and EA are aiming for a traditional military first-person shooter that resonates well with fans of GTA, PUBG, Escape from Tarkov, and Fortnite who prefer authenticity over more tasteful visuals.

Battlefield 6 is All the Rage on Steam

Battlefield 6's hype speaks for itself in terms of how well it has done on digital storefronts and social media. Within days of releasing the reveal trailer, Battlefield 6 became one of the top upcoming titles trending on Steam with almost 500,000 wishlists. Roughly 60 percent of these wish lists are from players who played and refunded Battlefield 2042 on Steam, which is massive potential player retention for the newer installment. But not just on Steam.

Battlefield 6's reveal trailer has consistently been trending throughout YouTube as well and has over 7.7 million views on the platform. The trailer performed well with more likes than the Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 trailer.
