BGMI 3.8 update introduces Steampunk Frontier, new items, and exciting gameplay changes.
KRAFTON India has officially confirmed the next major update for Battlegrounds Mobile India (BGMI). Titled Update 3.8, the patch brings a mix of new features, game mechanics, and a special themed mode that’s set to change the way players experience the battlefield.
BGMI 3.8 Update Official Release Date and Rollout Schedule
The announcement was made on BGMI’s official Discord server. The 3.8.0 update is set to launch on May 15, 2025. It will roll out in phases across Android, iOS, and the official website:

Steampunk Frontier Mode Unveiled
The update’s main feature is a new theme mode called Steampunk Frontier. It is inspired by the anime Attack on Titan. The Erangel map will include two new hot drop locations—near the shooting range and Mylta.
Trains will now move through the map. These moving zones carry rare loot and offer fast-paced combat opportunities. Players will need to fight for control while on the move.
Giant Potion and Mechanical Hook Arrive
Two new items are coming: the Giant Potion and the Mechanical Hook.
The Giant Potion lets players transform into a giant for a short time. While in this state, teammates can ride on the giant player’s shoulder. The transformation adds a fun and strategic twist to team fights.
The Mechanical Hook introduces a new way to move. Players can swing across areas quickly, similar to a grappling hook. It’s ideal for fast travel, flanking, or escaping danger.
Update 3.8 brings a bold shift in gameplay. With anime-inspired visuals, new tactical items, and dynamic map elements, KRAFTON aims to refresh the core BGMI experience.
