Black Clover Season 2 Is Blowing Minds: Here’s Why Fans Are Freaking Out

  • July 12, 2025 (UPDATED: July 12, 2025 12:48 IST)

With Black Clover's season 2 revealed, fans have been asking questions, speculating and wondering what will happen next. Find out what fans are saying about the trailer and what directors will be back for season 2.

Black Clover took 170 episodes and four years just to leave us at a cliffhanger. Why? Because it caught up to the manga way too fast. The last episode in 2021 promised tension yet fans were slammed with a cliffhanger instead.

Now, four years later in 2025, we finally have an official announcement. Black Clover season 2 trailer has finally been released, promising satisfaction while going past “all limits”, leaving fans at the edge of their seats. Let’s get into what the fans are saying, because the reaction? Has been nothing short of intense.

The Trailer Included What?: Fans Left Speechless

The video immediately kicked off with scenes from when it all began. From 2017’s, “Not giving up, is my magic” to 2021’s, “Let’s beat down the bad guys together”. The creators knew what they were doing and while the trailer felt more like a re-cap and didn’t leak anything, fans still picked up the nostalgia. One fan put it best, “I like the way how they showed us all the timelines from 2017 and up, this trailer is dope”

Another fan joked, “Pierrot boutta surpass their limits with this animation”, echoing Junichi Suwabe’s promise. However, not all fans were hyped up with the trailer. One fan straight up said, “well for an official trailer with a still moving frame it better be good”. Another just went for the throat saying, “You know Black Clover is back in town when 80% of the dialogue is Shonen Screaming.”

Overall, despite the mocking and teasing, it's clear that fans are happy and can’t wait to binge the anime and finally move past the cliffhanger from 4 years ago. Others shifted topics directly towards the VA’s and directors from season 1, leading us to the big question:

Which Directors Will Come Back For Season 2?

According to fans, it’s very likely that Tatsuya Yoshihara will not be joining in season 2 due to working on The Chainsaw Man but he may come back to direct an episode, for now it’s up in the air. On the flip side, it’s likely that the directors who worked on Black Clover from the last 70-80 episodes will come back. The very same fan also stated, “I'm sad Tatsuya Yoshihara won't be there. He pretty much made some iconic decisions for the series”. While I’m inclined to agree, would you agree? And if not, then which director are you rooting to come back?
