Black Ops 6 Season 3 Ranked Play Will Now Refund SR Lost Due To Cheaters

Losing a Call of Duty game is horrible. What's worse is trying your best and still losing because a player decided to use hacks instead of getting better. In 2025, games are taking on more serious steps towards those who cheat their way through, while rewarding players who suffer due to it. Activision recently announced its decision to refund SR, along with other actions– let's get to it.

Black Ops 6 Season 3: How the SR Refund Works

 

With the recent changes, if you lose a Ranked Play match and one of the opposing players is found guilty of cheating later on, your SR from that match will be restored. This means no more unfair rating drops due to hackers ruining the experience! This is a good step taken by Activision, as it fosters player loyalty towards the game.

More Anti-Cheat Measures Incoming

Activision is also doubling down on its fight against cheaters with AI-powered detection systems. The company has been pushing RICOCHET Anti-Cheat, and this SR refund system is another step toward making Ranked Play more competitive and fair. It’s to be seen if this will become a step in the right direction or lead to more unexpected problems.

Other Changes

Season 3 isn’t just bringing SR refunds into play – Activision is also adding a rejoin feature for Ranked matches. If you now disconnect mid-match, you’ll have 5 minutes to rejoin without a penalty. Plus, if a match-made teammate disconnects and fails to return, remaining teammates will receive a reduced SR loss if they lose the match.

With Season 3 rolling out soon, this update could make Ranked Play in Black Ops 6 less frustrating and more competitive, assuming Activision stays ahead of cheaters.
