BMPS 2025 Format Explained

Krafton India Esports had announced the next official tournament of the year, BMPS 2025 at the finals of BGIS 2025. The tournament will comprise of 96 invited teams. These teams have played in Krafton events previously and have performed well enough to be called pros. Now, since the competition will start on May 22, 2025, Krafton has announced the BMPS 2025 format. 

The league stage will be played from May 22 to June 22, 2025, and after that, Semi-Finals 1 and 2 will be played. After this, the finals will take place from July 4 to July 6, 2025. Here is the breakdown of the format. 

BMPS 2025 Format Explained

 

The format of the competition is very simple. All you have to do is make it to the top 16 when you reach the end of Semi Finals Week 2. You will have to be better than the other 95 teams. Each team will have to go through a tough competition in each round and thereafter make it to the finals. There, they will compete in front of a live audience. Krafton India has also announced Delhi as the city where the LAN finals will take place. Here is a bifurcation of the rounds the 96 teams will have to go through. 

Round 1: First Phase

 

 

Round 1 will kick off the competition, and it is scheduled between May 22nd and June 3rd, 2025. The first phase is going to be a huge pool of 96 competing teams playing more than 12 match days. The teams will be distributed into six different groups with each group having 16 teams. In each pool, the clubs will play 3 games over 3 days, and this means that there will be a total of 12 games in each group during this phase. The pools will be rotated after every 3 match days to provide diverse competition. At the end of Round 1, the top 8 teams according to cumulative positions will go directly to Semi Finals Week 1. From the 9th to the 16th positions, teams will move to Round 3, while the remaining most, the top 64 (excluding the top 16), will move to Round 2. The lowest 16 teams will be eliminated from the competition here.

Round 2: Mid-Stage Competition

 

Round 2 will be played between June 5th, 2025, and June 8th, 2025, among the 64 teams that progressed to this round. The teams will be split into 4 groups of 16 teams in each group. All the groups will play 6 matches in this stage across the 4 match days. The battle would be fierce since the best 40 teams out of the final overall ranking at the end of Round 2 would move into Round 3. 24 teams would get eliminated at the end of this round sadly.

Round 3: Final Qualification for Semi-Finals

 

Round 3 would occur from June 9th to June 12th, 2025, and would involve a total of 48 teams. Round 3 will consist of the top 8-ranked teams from Round 1 and the 40 Round 2 qualification teams. They will be divided into 3 groups, each consisting of 16 teams. The groups will be rearranged after the first two days of competition. Each team will have played 8 games over the 4 match days. The position available will be high because top 24 teams out of the overall table as of Round 3 will qualify for Semi Finals Week 1.

Semi Finals Week 1: Path to Grand Finals

Semi Finals Week 1 will be scheduled from June 14th to June 17th, 2025, and will be played with 32 teams. This stage will feature the 8 teams that qualified directly from Round 1 and the 24 teams that qualified from Round 3. These teams will be grouped into 4 groups with 8 teams in each group and will play a round-robin system. On each of the 4 matchdays, each team will have played 12 matches, i.e., 3 matches per matchday. The top 8 teams from the total standings of this stage will be qualified for the elite Grand Finals. The other 24 teams will get a second opportunity to qualify through Semi-Finals Week 2.

Semi-Finals Week 2: Second Chance for Grand Finals

Week 2 Semi Finals will take place from June 19th to June 22nd, 2025, and will include the 24 teams that did not qualify for the Grand Finals during the first semi-final week. The teams will be split into 3 groups of 8 teams each and will play a double round-robin tournament. This packed stage will have all the teams contest a cumulative of 16 matches across the 4 matchdays, with an average of 4 matches per matchday. By Semi Finals Week 2, the top 8 overall teams will earn the final invitations to the Grand Finals.
