Brave x Junction Demo Combines Blackjack Strategy with Classic RPG Action

So the team RideonJapan – the same guys behind Adventure Bar Story and that Mercenaries Saga – have now put out a demo for their newest title, Brave x Junction. This one’s different. It’s like an RPG, but you don’t just hit and wait. You gotta play blackjack to fight. Yes, really – the card game.

Instead of picking “Attack” or “Magic” like usual, battles go turn-based but also kind of like gambling. You and Monster both draw cards, try to get to 21 or close. Whoever wins the round does the damage. That’s the whole thing, but not boring – has a surprising strategy.

Who You Gonna Be?

In the demo, you can try out three characters. Fighter is the strong one, no frills. Thief dodges and tricks more. Then Magician has more of those confusing moves that throw off the monster, maybe even you too if you not paying attention.

Each character gives a different style to the fights. So you won’t get bored so quickly. Thief especially can make things weird, in a good way.

Monsters, Some Familiar

So the enemies – they are not just random. You got regular fantasy types, like slimes or dragons, but also some from the developers’ old games, if you played those.

Some of the monsters play a bit dirty. Like, one hides their cards. Another one goes past 21 but doesn’t bust? Don’t know how that’s fair, but that’s the point – it keeps you guessing and stops the game from getting samey.

Equipment Not Just for Looks

As you move through the dungeons in the demo, you can grab boost cards that help with stats or let you use skills. You also get gear – swords, rings, stuff like that – and they got their powers too.

There’s a forge system where you can smash gear together, and try for better combos. Kinda trial-and-error, but also satisfying when it works right. It makes the blackjack part more complex in a smart way.

Brave x Junction Minimum Specs Requirement

If you wanna try Brave x Junction, it’s on Steam now – just the demo though. The full version is not dated yet.

Minimum Specs:

• OS: Windows 10 or newer

• CPU: Intel Core i5

• RAM: 8GB

• Notes: No mouse or touchscreen – must use keyboard or Xbox controller.

Language and Stuff

Game’s got English and Japanese subtitle options, but voices not included right now. Interface clean, though, so it’s playable either way. This game ain’t perfect, but it’s fresh. Blackjack in RPG shouldn’t work, but somehow here it does. Try the demo and see if it clicks – or just enjoy how weirdly it fits together.
