Brawl Stars Ranked Mode Overhaul: New Tier, Battle Cards, and Major Changes

Discover the latest Brawl Stars ranked mode update featuring a new tier, shorter seasons, and potential competitive gameplay changes.

Supercell is giving Brawl Stars' ranked mode a shake-up with a major update, including a brand-new rank and significant system changes. The next season will launch on February 25, aiming to enhance competition and potentially create an entry point into esports.

New Rank and Battle Cards Update

A new rank, possibly named "Emerald," has been spotted in leaked visuals, positioned above the existing Master tier. This rank could serve as a stepping stone for high-level players aiming for competitive esports. However, the difficulty of reaching this new tier remains uncertain.

Alongside the rank changes, a fresh set of battle cards will replace the current ones in 2025. Players’ previous highest-achieved battle cards will be saved in their collection, but the details on how they will be displayed are unclear. Many in the community are concerned about losing their long-earned battle card progress.

Ranked Season Adjustments and Competitive Gameplay Changes

The ranked season this time will only be 17 days long instead of the regular duration. That would mean progression mechanics might get some changes as well. Nobody knows if Master or Emerald climbs will become tougher or easier; however, everyone is speculating that ranked boosts may go all the way past Legendary in the future.

This suggests that ranked mode would be structured into a competitive experience. As of now, there is no official announcement for ranked matchmaking and draft phase to change drastically; however, mechanics may be brought in to affect the gameplay based on the ranks. For this purpose, modifiers can be introduced for the lower ranks but removed for higher ranks.

As ranked mode changes, this next season will be super critical for the player as they finish off their battle card stars before the changes take place. Supercell is soon expected to post a blog detailing the full update, so the players wait with bated breath for some level of clarity on past ranked achievements.
