Call of Duty Mobile x NieR: Automata Crossover Event Goes Live with New Skins, Weapons & Challenges

Today, on May 31, 2025, Call of Duty Mobile start the long-awaited NieR: Automata crossover event and players been looking forward since teasers started appearing. The event brings new operator skins, futuristic-style weapon designs, and also few changes in gameplay that’s adding extra layers to how people play.

Brand New Skins & Weapons to Use

So, what’s in it? For starter, the 9S character from NieR: Automata is now a new operator skin for Kui Ji. It’s looking very close to how he looks in the original game, which fans will probably recognize immediately. As for weapons, there’s two blueprints with the NieR theme – AK-47 and also PP19 Bizon – that have a kind of robotic, metallic appearance.

But not only guns. There are melee weapons too, like the White Oath and Black Oath swords, and some others like gloves and knives that feel very much like from another game, but in a good way.

Tasks That Brings You Stuff

There’s challenges included in the event as well. These missions can be completed by playing regularly, and they reward things like cosmetics or even blueprints. Some of the rewards are free, though others you need premium unlocks or crates. It’s not the easiest path always, but for those who play often, it's very possible to earn several things.

They also made sure that even non-paying players can get some themed gear if they play enough.

Extra Gameplay Features Comes With This Too

It’s not only visual changes. This season update that launched with the event also gives few gameplay updates. One of them is the Auto-Leaning mechanic – which basically helps you peek around corners without pressing so much buttons. Another visual improvement is puddle reflections, which was gone before but now return in Battle Royale maps.

These aren’t huge, but they are noticeable if you care about the game looking more real and the combat feeling smoother.
