Call of Duty: Warzone Rolls Out May 2025 Update With Extended Event and Key Fixes

Warzone's May 2025 update extends the High Art event, fixes bugs, and improves Ranked Play.

A new update for Call of Duty: Warzone on May 13, 2025 has been released by the devs. The update comes just two weeks after the major Season 3 Reloaded patch and continues to refine the overall gameplay experience. It brings a mix of performance fixes, balance changes, and extended in-game events. The patch also aims to address long-standing issues reported by players, particularly related to movement mechanics and competitive balance in Ranked Play.

High Art Event Gets Extended

The High Art event, originally set to end on May 15, now continues until May 22 at 10:00 a.m. PT / 1:00 p.m. ET. This gives players an extra week to progress through the Event Pass. The pass includes both free and premium tiers. Players can earn rewards like the “Fired Up” Seth Rogen operator skin, XP tokens, and weapon blueprints. After the event ends, items such as the Ladra Submachine Gun and the Goblin Mk2 7.62 Mini-Rocket Conversion will move to the Armory. These rewards will also be usable in Call of Duty: Black Ops 6, offering continued value across titles.

Gameplay Tuning and Bug Fixes

The update fixes a major movement issue. Players had experienced slower aim down sight (ADS) speeds when crouching or prone. This affected mobility during combat. The new patch restores proper ADS speeds in those positions.

Other bugs were fixed as well. An issue that extended revive times for downed teammates has been corrected. A glitch that blocked access to the "How Prestige Works" button during matchmaking has been addressed. The developers also resolved a bug that caused operator voice lines to play too often. These fixes aim to improve gameplay flow and in-match clarity.

Changes to Ranked Play

Warzone's Ranked Play mode also received several changes. The Restock public event now replaces Fire Sale in the third circle. This change may shift player strategies in the late game. Additionally, emotes are once again disabled in Ranked Play. Raven Software stated the restriction helps prevent players from gaining unfair advantages through emote use.

This patch builds on the Season 3 Reloaded update released earlier on May 1. That update made changes to the Verdansk map. The Verdansk Train Station reopened and now features multiple access points. The Triumph TF 250-X motorbike from Rebirth Island was also added to Verdansk. The mid-season patch introduced new High Value Loot Zones and new mission contracts. These include the Big Game Bounty and Train Recon contracts.

With the May 13 update, Call of Duty: Warzone continues to improve its mechanics. It also gives players more time and content to explore before the season wraps up.
