Call of the Sea Sequel "Call of the Elder Gods" Announced for PS5, Xbox Series, Switch 2, and PC

It has now been officially announced that Call of the Elder Gods, which is being called the sequel to 2020’s Call of the Sea, is being developed by Out of the Blue and publisher Raw Fury. The new title will be coming to PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, Nintendo Switch 2 and PC, and will taking players further into the bizarre mystery and dark fantasy story that first began with Norah Everhart's journey.

More Darker Story, And Norah Returns Again

This second game Call of the Elder Gods is said to be a direct continuation, and Norah is still the main character after what happened in the previous title. Now she somehow ended up back in the world of ancient terrors and hidden knowledge that was supposed to be gone. The story this time will be going deeper into the mythos of the Elder Gods, where the borders of reality are becoming uncertain.

There is been mentioned by the developers that the tone will now feel more unsettling and psychological, compared to the first game which was more beautiful and calm. The questions about truth, sacrifice and destiny may become central theme in this mysterious tale.

New Gameplay Things and More Challenges

The first game had lots of puzzles and exploring peacefully, but this one is going to be little more intense. In Call of the Elder Gods, players will be dealing with light horror gameplay, stealth moments, and even some survival elements, though it’s not a full survival horror.

There are puzzles again, but now they are mixed with danger and stress. Also, some decisions you make can now affect the ending, so it’s not just about moving forward but thinking about what consequences are behind your actions. Avoiding enemies and cults that worship ancient beings is also part of the game.

Looks Beautiful and Strange Again

With the use of Unreal Engine 5, the developers are pushing the graphics further than before. The game will contain many surreal, dreamlike places, including flooded ruins and twisted environments that reflect Norah’s mental status. Inspiration is still coming from old pulp fiction and 1930s style visuals.

The game will support newer console features, and even the Switch 2 version is getting some special optimization. There's also cross-saves and accessibility options, which is good for most players.

Release Coming in 2025, But Not Sure When

Raw Fury says Call of the Elder Gods is expected to launch in 2025, though no exact day has been told yet. More details and probably gameplay is going to be shown during upcoming game events in summer.
