COD Warzone: Verdansk is Returning in 2025 ; Here’s What’s Changing

Warzone’s iconic Verdansk map is set to return in Season 3 of 2025! Leaks confirm a nearly identical layout to the original, with some key changes. Here’s everything you need to know.

The long-awaited return of Verdansk is finally happening in Warzone, with many reports suggesting it will arrive in Season 3 of 2025. Since its official announcement in August last year, leaks have revealed some key details—such as the addition of Resurgence mode and the inclusion of classic Black Ops maps.

But the biggest question on everyone’s mind is: Which version of Verdansk is coming back? The original map saw multiple iterations before being replaced by Caldera in 2021, and now, a fresh leak has seemingly confirmed the layout we’ll be dropping into when it returns.

A Nearly Identical Version of the OG Map

According to trusted leaker TheGhostOfHope, the returning Verdansk will be “pretty much” the same as the launch version from March 2020, but with a few small changes.

What’s Staying the Same?

  • The Stadium roof will be closed, just like in the original version, but the interior will be open for players to explore.
  • The train will be present, even though it wasn’t originally added until August 2020.

What’s Different?

  • The Train Station POI’s interior will be closed, though the leaker hinted it might open in a future update.
  • The subway fast travel system won’t be there at launch, meaning players will have to navigate the map the old-fashioned way.

A Mix of Old and New

This version of Verdansk isn’t an exact copy of any previous iteration—it’s primarily the launch layout with a few elements from later updates. However, more changes could come down the line, as Activision is likely to tweak the map based on player feedback.

Will Verdansk’s Return Revive Warzone?

While many Warzone fans are excited to revisit the OG map, some remain skeptical about whether it will live up to expectations. Given that Season 3 is expected to arrive in April, we won’t have to wait too long to find out if Verdansk’s comeback is the game-changer players are hoping for.
