COD Warzone: Verdansk Returns ; No Swimming in Season 3!

Verdansk is back in Warzone Season 3, launching April 3! Leaks confirm no swimming at launch, bringing back classic gameplay. Find out what’s changing and what might return later.

When Activision first introduced swimming in Modern Warfare 2, they claimed it was necessary because, well… falling into water and instantly dying isn’t fun. Fair point.

But things got messy—especially with maps like Ashika Island, where water became a frustrating battleground. Final circles ending in the water? Only pistols being usable underwater? Yeah, not exactly a fan-favorite feature. Raven Software tried fixing it in 2023 by adding a dedicated pistol slot, but let’s be real—most players just wanted water gone.

Verdansk is Back—And Staying Dry!

After months of speculation, Activision finally confirmed that Verdansk is making a long-awaited comeback in Warzone Season 3 on April 3. And according to leaks, it’s sticking to its OG roots—which means no swimming.

Call of Duty leaker TheGhostOfHope reassured fans that there won’t be any water at launch. That means no awkward final circles in the middle of a lake and no players hiding underwater like stealthy sharks.

Could Water Return Later? Maybe…

Before you celebrate too soon—this might not be permanent. The same leaker hinted that Verdansk will evolve over time, with new and returning updates planned for Black Ops 6 seasons and beyond.

So, while we’re getting a water-free Verdansk to start, future updates could introduce new elements—and yeah, that might mean water. But for now? It’s all about boots on the ground, not fins in the water.

Final Verdict: Dry Land FTW!

Verdansk is bringing back the classic Warzone experience, and that means no water combat—at least for now. Whether that changes down the road is anyone’s guess, but at launch, you can snipe, rush, and drop in without worrying about unexpected swimming lessons.
