Bloober Team reveals Cronos: The New Dawn gameplay trailer, featuring time travel, grotesque monsters, and a brutal survival-horror experience.
Bloober Team has now revealed gameplay trailer for Cronos: The New Dawn, which was shown recently on June 13, 2025. The game seems to be a big shift from what the studio has done before, and it looks very horror-like. With monsters, two timelines and many effects, it wants to make players confused but in a scary way maybe.
Different Times but One Place Still
The story appears split into two, or at least it seems like that from the trailer. One part is the future which is very broken, with no people almost, and destruction everywhere. The other part is like the 1980s version of Poland, only it’s different than real life one. There’s a district called Nowa Huta, where things happen with an old style. You’re the Traveler, who is working for an unknown group. Their goal is to retrieve people before a Change happens. It is unclear what the Change means, but it must be important.
Developers said it will be emotional but also action. The timelines might mix or not, but the past and future both are equally dangerous.
Strange Enemies That Keep Coming Again
In the trailer, many creatures are shown and they look unpleasant. They are called Orphans and seem to have a bad nature. You can shoot them, but it’s not finished there. Their bodies must be burned because otherwise they will merge. When that happens, they change into something worse. The game tells again and again: “Don’t Let Them Merge.” That’s probably serious advice.
There is shooting, yes, but also the fights seem not fast. More slow and thinking. Less run, more fear.
Time Works In Odd Ways Here
The player have some time abilities. There are things called temporal distortions. It can be used to move through areas or maybe for puzzles, although not totally explained yet. Guns include pistol, shotgun, and some tools perhaps for survival. Ammunition won’t be always available, which could be a problem if used without thought.
Critics said the combat looks intense and not relaxed. So it may need practice.
Hardcore Horror Seems the Focus
Bloober Team is going back into horror deeply. After Silent Hill 2, this is different though. Not same style. Cronos doesn’t seem to allow easy options. No comfort mode. Only hard one. It’s like old horror but more cruel, probably.
They said it’s inspired by earlier games like Resident Evil, also Dark Souls a bit. That means you might lose a lot before winning.
When the Game Is Coming and Where
The game is planning to come in fall season of 2025. Platforms will be PC (Steam, Epic), PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S. That part is already confirmed. People who like tough games or scary stories might find it interesting.
Ending Thoughts, Though Some Things Still Unclear
-
Monsters can become more dangerous after death, so players must act fast.
-
Two times mixed in one game makes it unique.
-
It’s not for people who want an easy game.
Cronos: The New Dawn might not be for everybody, but for some people it could be the horror they was waiting for. But we have to wait and see how it really is.
