Is Tokyo Ghoul coming to Dead by Daylight? A mysterious audio file has sparked rumors that Ken Kaneki could be the next killer. Get the latest DBD leaks, theories, and updates here!

Dead by Daylight fans are buzzing with theories after some sneaky teases from the developers. The hottest rumor? The next killer could be straight out of Tokyo Ghoul! While Behaviour Interactive hasn’t confirmed anything yet, one mysterious audio file has players convinced. Let’s break it down.

Tokyo Ghoul x Dead by Daylight? Sounds Like a Killer Combo

For those who don’t know, Tokyo Ghoul is a popular anime and manga series where ghouls—creatures that look human but need to eat human flesh—live among humans. The series celebrated its 10th anniversary last summer and has over 47 million copies of its manga in circulation. With its dark vibes and terrifying ghouls, it would fit perfectly into the spooky world of Dead by Daylight.

The Audio Clue That’s Got Everyone Talking

The rumor mill started churning thanks to YouTuber Fricking Nick, who found an in-game audio recording hidden in the exit area of a map.

  • The recording plays on a radio inside a locked office—and it’s super garbled with lots of background noise.
  • But here’s the kicker: players claim they can hear the word “ghouls” multiple times.

Naturally, this has led fans to speculate that the next killer could be a Tokyo Ghoul character—maybe even Ken Kaneki himself!

Past Ghoul References: Coincidence or Clues?

This isn’t the first time Dead by Daylight has teased something ghoul-related:

  • The Chapter 31 update featured a movie marquee reading “The Ghoul’s Lament” on The Unknown’s map.
  • Some fans believe The Ghoul’s voice lines hinted at future killers, like:
  • “Have you seen my dog?” (a possible tease for The Houndmaster)
  • “I lived in dungeons long forgotten” (likely referencing the Dungeons & Dragons crossover with Vecna).

It seems Behaviour Interactive loves dropping these cryptic hints—so could this new audio file be another breadcrumb?

Delayed Chapter, But More Content on the Way

While fans wait for confirmation, there’s some bad news:

  • The newest Dead by Daylight chapter has been delayed by three weeks from its original February 18, 2025 release.
  • The devs said they need more time for quality-of-life improvements and fixing some internal issues.

But don’t worry—there’s still a lot to look forward to:

  • A new quest system and perk presents coming between April and June
  • Keyboard and mouse support for console players arriving sometime before the end of the year

Final Thoughts: Kaneki or Nah?

While we still don’t have a clear answer on whether Ken Kaneki or another Tokyo Ghoul character is joining Dead by Daylight, the hints are stacking up. With previous references to ghouls and now this mysterious audio clip, fans have every reason to be hyped.

Could this be one of the most epic anime crossovers in DBD history? We’ll have to wait and see!
