DOOM The Dark Ages PC Requirements & Performance Guide

  • India Today Gaming
  • May 05, 2025 (UPDATED: May 05, 2025 16:01 IST)

Unleash hell in DOOM: The Dark Ages, a savage, medieval reimagining of relentless FPS carnage.

DOOM: The Dark Ages recasts the classic mayhem of the franchise in a dark, brutal, and medieval light. As a prequel to DOOM (2016) and DOOM Eternal, it replaces sci-fi corridors with blazing fortresses and gothic battlefields without losing the franchise's signature speed and violence. Combat is more brutish and visceral, focusing on melee and momentum, but technical requirements are still off the charts. Whether charging with a shield-saw or driving a demon mech, your system must be prepared.

DOOM The Dark Ages PC Requirements: Recommended System Requirements (1440p @ 60 FPS – High Settings)

DOOM: The Dark Ages will be rolled out onto the PC (Windows), PS5, and Xbox Series X|S markets on May 15, 2025. Two days more of enjoyment than the normal launch date can be enjoyed by the Premium Edition, which allows early entry on May 13, 2025.

  • The operating system is Windows 10/11 (64-bit).

  • AMD Ryzen 7 5700x or Intel Core i7-12700k is exemplified here.

  • Memory: 32 GB RAM; graphics card: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3080 or AMD Radeon RX 6800 (10 GB+ VRAM).

  • Storage: 100 GB NVMe SSD. PCIe Gen 4 or Gen 5 is recommended.

Minimum System Requirements (1080p @ 60 FPS - Low Settings)

  • Windows 10/11 64-bit (operating system).

  • AMD Ryzen 7 3700x or Intel Core i7-10700k (processor).

  • Memory: 16 GB RAM.

  • NVIDIA RTX 2060 SUPER or AMD RX 6600 (8GB VRAM): Graphics card.

  • Storage: 100 GB NVMe SSD (Required).

Performance Guidance and Upgrade Priorities

The Dark Ages impresses systems with its hulking demon hordes, vertical play spaces, and highly textured environments. When you are upgrading, begin with your GPU cards, such as the RTX 4070 Ti or RX 7900 XT give you a robust balance for high-refresh performance at 1440p. CPU performance matters, but isn't crucial unless coupled with top-tier GPUS. Heat management becomes imperative under prolonged playing.

Liquid cooling solutions like the NAUTILUS 360 RS or TITAN 360 RX can assist in maintaining temps under control and performance stable. This title requires NVMe-level performance for instant loading and real-time asset streaming. A Gen 4 SSD like the MP600 PRO LPX is the minimum requirement, but Gen 5 drives like the MP700 Elite will render future-proofing and quicker access times.
