Dr Disrespect, aka Guy Beahm, has stirred up quite a bit of controversy lately, and it doesn’t seem to be dying down any time soon. After admitting to sending inappropriate DMs to a minor, the gaming star lost several partnerships, including his spot at Midnight Society, the game studio he helped create. But now, he’s hinting at a possible return. Midnight Society, however, has a different story to tell.
Dr Disrespect’s Fall from Grace
It all started in 2020 when Dr Disrespect was hit with a permanent Twitch ban for reasons that remained a mystery—until now. Earlier this year, former Twitch staffer Cody Conners alleged that Doc’s ban was due to "sexting a minor" through Twitch Whisper. Dr Disrespect didn’t deny it outright, admitting instead that he had sent inappropriate jokes to a minor. This confession cost him big time—partnerships vanished, and his contract with Midnight Society came to an end.
The Twitch Ban Mystery & YouTube Move
After the Twitch ban, Dr Disrespect moved his streaming gig over to YouTube, where he continues to stream. He even pointed fingers at Twitch, suggesting the platform orchestrated his ban and claiming he had done nothing wrong. But that hasn’t stopped the fallout.
Doc's Comeback Hopes—Or Not?
Despite his troubles, Dr Disrespect recently hinted at a return to Midnight Society, claiming that it was “still his studio” and that he just needed a bit more time before rejoining. “I just got a feeling. Give it a little bit more time… we’ll be right back in it,” he told his fans confidently.
However, Midnight Society was quick to shut down this claim. A spokesperson for the company told Decrypt that Doc’s comments were “baseless” and “not true,” emphasizing that while they parted ways amicably, they have no plans to work with him again. Their focus is entirely on shipping Deadrop in 2025, with no Dr Disrespect in sight.
What’s Next for Dr Disrespect?
As for Doc’s future, things are still up in the air. He’s currently waiting to hear whether his YouTube channel will be remonetized after reapplying on September 25. Whether he’ll make a big comeback or face further setbacks is yet to be seen.
