EA Sports FC 26 launches on Sept 27, 2025, with full feature support for Nintendo Switch 2, ending legacy editions and bringing next-gen parity.
EA has made its new announcement for EA Sports FC 26, the next football game from the company. Fans were waiting for a long time, and now they get to know not only about the release, but also that the Nintendo Switch 2 is getting its version. This one is going to be much different than the older ones, according to what is being shared.
EA Sports FC 26 Release Date Coming on 27 September, Not So Far
The new football title will launch on 27th September 2025, and if you take the Ultimate Edition, then it will be available for play on 20 September already. This timing is usual from EA, since many years it has come during this period, before the football seasons begin properly. Platforms listed include PS5, Xbox Series X/S, PC, and also Switch 2, which is the new one in this list.
Some main features are said to be improved, like there is better HyperMotion V technology, AI is working better without the ball, and also Career Mode is getting more detailed. Ultimate Team will also be bringing more ICONs and new Heroes, from different timelines of football. So, for players who want old legends, it will be exciting.
Switch 2 Version Is Now With Full Content Like Others
In what can be called a surprise by many, EA Sports FC 26 is coming on Nintendo Switch 2 not as a Legacy version, but with the same full features as on big consoles. Because of new hardware on Switch 2, it can now handle the Frostbite engine and other systems that were not working before.
Modes like Clubs, Career, Volta, and Ultimate Team will all be present, and everything is said to run smoother than on the old Switch. For many players who were getting left out before, this is important, and they can now enjoy the same gameplay as PlayStation and Xbox.
It is not clear yet how good it will perform, but the announcement gives much positive feeling to Nintendo fans.
Pre-Orders Begin, Cover Star Not Revealed Yet
EA has already opened pre-orders for the game. There are two types — Standard Edition and Ultimate Edition. Ultimate One gives an earlier playing date, extra items for Ultimate Team, and also a few design features.
Still, the cover star is not shown. Some are saying Bellingham or Mbappé might be on the cover, but nothing official has come. Maybe EA will declare soon by the end of July.
Overall, EA Sports FC 26 looks to be building on what the last game did, and with Nintendo finally included in a full way, this could be one of the biggest editions in many years.
