eFootball 2025 Retro Mode Announced for 30th Anniversary Celebration; Check Details

eFootball 2025 introduces Retro Mode for its 30th anniversary, bringing pixel visuals, legacy teams, and classic gameplay nostalgia.

Konami is now getting ready for a big celebration with eFootball 2025, and to honour the 30th year of the game franchise, they are going back in time. There's going to be a Retro Mode added, and it’s bringing all the old memories back with it. From visuals to gameplay, everything looks more like the games we used to play years ago.

Remembering the Past with a New Way

It’s already been three decades since the first Winning Eleven game was released, and now Konami wants fans to feel that again. The Retro Mode is not permanent, just limited for now. But it brings back the charm from those old days. It’s like PES 3 or PES 5 days are here again.

According to the reports, this retro thing should start around July 21, 2025, which is the anniversary of the franchise. But sometimes Konami do things early, so maybe it could begin a little sooner. We don’t know for sure yet.

Old-School Graphics and Iconic Teams Come Again

When you play this mode, it’s not like the normal eFootball matches. Stadiums look very different – pixel everywhere. The crowd is more basic, even the pitch looks simple and a bit rough. You can even see the net hanging like it did in PS2 times.

The gameplay was shown in one clip, with two special teams: WE United and EFB United, both are from older games. Even the physics of the ball seems different, but not too much. It’s like they changed it a bit to feel retro, but still okay for modern players.

A Special Online Event Style Like Before

This Retro Mode is not a full game mode. It will be there like other online events from earlier, for example, the Captain Tsubasa one or the Strike Arena. Most probably, there will be rewards, maybe retro player cards too.

I wish Konami added some old-style commentary as well, but they didn't say anything about that. Maybe it’s too much to ask. And a retro user interface would’ve been great also, just like old PES menus.

What Konami is doing here is making old fans happy, and also showing how far football games have come. Retro Mode may not be for everyone, but for those who played those first PES games, it feels special. If you love nostalgia and football, this update could be something you won't want to miss.
