Elden Ring Nightreign Playtest Codes Are Selling for Insane Prices ; Is It Worth It?

  • February 03, 2025 (UPDATED: February 03, 2025 14:30 IST)

Elden Ring Nightreign playtest invites are being resold for up to $300. Learn why buying these codes is risky, with potential scams and bans from FromSoftware.

If you didn’t get lucky with an Elden Ring Nightreign playtest invite, you’re not alone—but some people are so desperate to get in that they’re paying ridiculous amounts of money for access codes. Resellers have jumped on the hype train, and invitations to the highly anticipated network test are now popping up online with sky-high price tags.

Elden Ring Nightreign: A New Take on the Elden Ring Formula

For those who haven’t been keeping up, Elden Ring Nightreign is an upcoming roguelike spin-off of Elden Ring. Players (either solo or in teams of three) are dropped into the world, where they have three in-game days to fight, explore, and prepare for an epic boss battle at the end. While we don’t have an official release date yet, fans won’t have to wait long for a sneak peek—the first network test starts on February 14.

Resellers Are Cashing In on Desperate Fans

With so much hype surrounding the game, not everyone was able to secure a playtest invite, and resellers are taking full advantage. eBay listings for access codes are currently going for anywhere between $30 and $300, with some already selling for around $50.

As the network test date approaches, available codes could become even rarer, pushing prices even higher. Whether anyone actually pays $300 for one remains to be seen, but the demand is definitely there.

Should You Buy an Elden Ring Nightreign Playtest Code? (Short Answer: No.)

As tempting as it may be to shell out cash for a playtest invite, it’s not a great idea—and here’s why:

  • It’s Against the Rules – FromSoftware has made it clear that buying, selling, or transferring codes is prohibited. If they find out, they could revoke access.
  • You Might Get Scammed – There’s no guarantee that the code you buy is legit. Scammers love moments like this, and fake invites are already floating around.
  • You Could Lose Your Access – Even if you get a real code, if it wasn’t originally assigned to you, you could still lose access if FromSoftware decides to crack down.

What’s Next for Elden Ring Nightreign?

The spin-off might not be the full Elden Ring sequel fans were expecting, but it’s still shaping up to be an exciting twist on the Soulslike formula. With a 2025 release window, we won’t have to wait too long to see how it stacks up against the original game.

For now, the best move is to be patient and wait for more opportunities to experience Nightreign the right way—without getting scammed or banned.
