Bandai stuns fans with the launch trailer for Elden Ring: Nightreign, set to Evanescence’s “Bring Me to Life.” With epic boss battles, haunting landscapes, and full 2000s emo energy, Nightreign is redefining dark fantasy hype.

Nightreign’s Launch Trailer Brings the Drama (and the Nu Metal)

Bandai just dropped the official launch trailer for Elden Ring: Nightreign, and it's everything you'd want from a dark fantasy epic... with a twist. The trailer showcases intense boss fights, breathtaking environments, and one seriously frosty dragon known as the Caligo Miasma of Night. But what really turned heads? The soundtrack.

Enter Evanescence: The Ultimate Throwback Power Move

Yep, you heard that right. The trailer is set to Bring Me to Life by Evanescence, and it’s hitting every nostalgic nerve in the best way possible. If you grew up in the early 2000s with a playlist full of nu metal and emo anthems, this was basically a soul-level critical hit. Bandai even leaned into the dramatic flair, posting a caption that read: “When your allies have fallen and all seems lost, dig deep down inside and summon the strength of early 2000’s alternative metal. WAKE ME UP.”

Honestly, it’s hard not to picture someone on the team used to make anime music videos in their spare time—and the internet agrees.

Fans Are Loving the Vibes

The response? Pure chaos and joy. Social media blew up with comments calling the trailer a “fever dream” and praising whoever made the music choice as a certified genius. One fan joked that this trailer walked so every AMV from 2006 could run. Whether it’s nostalgia or just the perfect pairing of visuals and vocals, it totally worked.

And Evanescence isn’t stopping there. They’ve also got a track called Afterlife featured in Netflix’s upcoming Devil May Cry anime, which is stacking its soundtrack with 2000s legends like Limp Bizkit and Papa Roach. It’s a full-blown alt-metal revival and we’re here for it.

First Impressions: Nightreign Looks Solid

So far, Nightreign is landing well with early critics. The game’s sitting at a 78 on Metacritic and is being praised for successfully blending Elden Ring’s solo DNA into a co-op-friendly format. The bosses are epic, the world is eerie and atmospheric, and playing with friends seems to add a whole new layer of chaos and fun.

With the game officially launching soon, players can look forward to diving into a new kind of Elden Ring experience. Whether you’re hunting bosses solo or with a squad, or just headbanging to Evanescence while you roll-dodge through icy death beams, Nightreign is shaping up to be one of 2025’s most unique horror-fantasy crossovers.
