Final Fantasy 14 Patch 7.3 brings new raids, story climax, dungeons, and crafting updates.
In an exciting revelation made by the famous producer and director of Final Fantasy 14, Naoki Yoshida, during a Letter From the Producer LIVE Part 87, we have received the first details of Patch 7.3, The Promise of Tomorrow! This update is set to provide a dramatic crescendo to the story of the Dawntrail expansion, while also providing players with new content and even new raids, content that will include some nostalgia from the classic Final Fantasy games.
New Story and Dungeon Content
Scheduled for early August, Patch 7.3 introduces The Meso Terminal, a new main story dungeon, alongside a trial battle against a mysterious foe. The patch will also launch an allied society quest line focusing on the massive Yok Huy of Urqopacha, allowing Crafters to level from 90 to 100. Additional side quests, including new chapters for the Hildibrand storyline and the Phantom Relic Weapon quests, will follow weeks after release.
Expanding Combat and Raid Content
Patch 7.3 expands combat options with the San d’Oria: The Second Walk alliance raid, part of the Echoes of Vana’diel series. This 24-player raid revisits Final Fantasy 11 content, featuring battles against bosses such as the villain Kam’lanaut. Other combat additions include the Wreath of Snakes (Unreal) trial, the Vault Oneiron treasure dungeon, and a new Deep Dungeon called Pilgrim’s Traverse.
Player Feedback and Quality Improvements
Yoshida addressed player feedback on the Occult Crescent and Cosmic Exploration features. Starting in Patch 7.3, players will be able to queue for Occult Crescent as a 48-player premade alliance. The next Forked Tower raid, arriving in Patch 7.5, will offer both Normal and Savage difficulties. Updates to Cosmic Exploration include mount access and a retainer bell feature. Yoshida also apologized for recent issues with quality assurance, citing hotfixes and server maintenance problems, and pledged improvements ahead.
According to references in Final Fantasy 9 and Final Fantasy 11, Patch 7.3 is shaping up to be one of the largest and most content-filled updates Final Fantasy 14 has seen yet. The patch is supposed to wrap up the Dawn Trail story arc thrillingly, and offer an abundance of new challenges, leaving players thirsty to learn what the future of this famed MMO holds.
