Final Fantasy XIV Mobile Begins Rollout in China in June 2025

The Final Fantasy XIV mobile game is now almost ready to come out in China, with the release happening on June 19, 2025. Tencent’s Lightspeed Studios and Square Enix, the original devs behind the game, had worked together to build this mobile version. It’s been in the works for some time now, and fans are finally going to see the result. A trailer for the game was shown last year in November, giving players a sneak peek into what to expect. At the time, it was already made clear that China would be the first place to get it.

Eorzea Comes to Mobile

This mobile version, first revealed officially back in August 2024, brings players back into the beloved world of Eorzea but now in your pocket. The game’s core is still there: players will go through iconic quests, battle legendary enemies like the Primals, and travel across Hydaelyn in hopes of saving the realm from destruction.

The visuals exhibited in the said trailer are impressive for mobiles. It is still in development, but half the parts already show the charm of the original. Players shall again be treated to immersive storytelling and intense combat, along with such chillingly enjoyable side activities as chocobo racing and fishing.

Familiar Yet Different

There will be nine different jobs available at launch, and the Armoury system will allow for easy role switching. Also, the game features over 600 weather patterns, giving landscapes a dynamic look and feel. On top of combat classes, there are also 11 crafting and gathering professions ready from day one.

Producer Naoki Yoshida mentioned that the mobile version is reimagined completely, but doesn’t lose what made the original great. The team at Lightspeed Studios, he says, are working closely with Square Enix to ensure the experience remains immersive and polished even if it’s played on a smaller screen.

Global Launch on the Horizon

Although the China release date is set, the global release has yet to be confirmed. However, it’s expected to arrive soon after the initial launch. Players interested in trying the game early can pre-register now through the official website. That way, they’ll stay informed and get a chance to join the adventure right from the beginning.
