Fortnite Ballistic v34.20 brings balance tweaks, economy changes, and a new map, Hammer Fall.

Epic Games has revealed the Fortnite Ballistic v34.20 update, set to release today, March 25. This update includes major weapon adjustments, economy changes, and gameplay fixes. Players can also look forward to a new map, Hammer Fall the first new addition to Ballistic since its launch.

Hammer Fall: A New Battlefield Emerges

Hammer Fall is the newest map in Fortnite Ballistic, featuring a medieval theme with tall spires and narrow alleyways. Unlike Skyline 10, this map focuses on vertical combat and strategic cover for a fresh tactical experience.

At first, Hammer Fall will launch as a "shell map," meaning it won’t have all the final environmental details. This allows developers to adjust the layout based on player feedback. The finished version is set to arrive with the v34.30 update on April 8.

Weapon Balance Updates

The v34.20 update includes modifications to several key weapons, improving close-range combat effectiveness and fine-tuning weapon dynamics:

  • Hammer Pump Shotgun: Fire rate has been slightly increased, with a significant boost to point-blank damage.
  • Frenzy Auto Shotgun: Damage output at close and mid-range has been enhanced.
  • Thunder Burst SMG: Minor improvements in damage and fire rate.
  • Striker AR: The range at which damage reduction begins has been lowered.

In-Match Economy Adjustments

Epic Games has also revised in-game currency costs for various weapons to maintain balance and accessibility:

  • Reaper Sniper Rifle: Price reduced from 4,700 to 4,500 Credits.
  • Striker AR: Price increased from 2,500 to 2,700 Credits.
  • Nemesis AR: Price increased from 2,500 to 2,700 Credits.
  • Drum Gun: Price lowered from 3,500 to 3,200 Credits.

Community Feedback and Future Updates

Following a recent community survey, developers have acknowledged several key player concerns and suggestions. Among the most requested improvements are:

  • The addition of new maps, weapons, and gadgets.
  • Expanded options for starter pistols.
  • Enhanced measures to address inactive (AFK) players.
  • Increased customization for HUD settings.
  • More efficient inventory management features.
