Fortnite Battle Royale Matches Might Just Get Tougher Now ; Here's Why

Fortnite Battle Royale matches are getting harder as Epic Games reduces bot numbers in public lobbies, creating a more competitive and skill-based experience for players.

One of recent changes of Fortnite Battle Royale has been the attention of numerous players; the match is becoming significantly harder. This can largely be explained by a silent decision of Epic Games, which apparently frames the number of AI-controlled bots in the public lobby. It is not officially confirmed yet, but players report that they are getting to see less bots and are seeing more real opponents in every match.

The introduction of bots in Fortnite began with Chapter 2 Season 1 as these characters are a part of the skill-based matchmaking system. They existed to equalize games and make it less challenging for skilled and new players to play them. Such bots were very simple. They lacked expertise in many advanced issues such as driving cars, as well as fighting in complicated situations; they mostly missed and were not able to construct good buildings. The existence of bots in a game made the gameplay less appealing and exciting to most players.

But with various time passing, primarily the seasons, the players started to feel that their games included more than a few bots- some games even had more than 90 percent of the lobby to themselves. This made Fortnite to become what people referred to as PVE Royale because there was really no battle among humans until the last moments. This decreased the satisfying feeling of victory and lowered the fun and depth.

Today, it appears that things are changing. Bots seem to be unknown or to be reduced in number in the latest matches in particular among the players with moderate or high level of skills. This has been increasing matches to be tougher yet more exciting. It is moving to the actual player-versus-player combat. Although the newer players may still have to deal with bots so they get adjusted to the game, the experienced players now have a competitive environment to look forward to.

This adjustment will also make Ranked matches to be more similar to the Ranked play, where people with bots are few. Consequently, skill, strategy, and speed of decision-making become essential parts in the game. The raised difficulty is not going to feel welcomed by everyone but it is bound to increase the quality of the game and hence makes it more enjoyable when you win something.
