Fortnite adds new AI-voiced NPCs in Chapter 6 Season 3, offering fresh quests but lacking the impact of iconic characters like Darth Vader.
Fortnite has put some new NPCs in the game and now they have AI voices, but it’s not the same as before. Players are noticing that these ones are not feeling as cool or exciting as Darth Vader did. It's a new thing, but maybe not what everyone wanted.
Fortnite Chapter 6 Season 3 AI Talking Characters Are in Now
In the new Chapter 6 Season 3 update, Epic Games decided to bring characters with AI voices into Fortnite. You find them at different POIs on the island, and they talk to you when you're near. Not real voice actors though—just computer-made speech, using text-to-voice stuff.
They give out quests or just say a few lines when you're walking around. Names like Oscar and Hope are some of these NPCs, but they ain’t no Marvel hero or something. They are just standing there doing their job.
Very Different Than When Darth Vader Came
Back when Darth Vader entered Fortnite, it was something huge. Lightsabers, music, he chased you around with power. He looked scary and had that Star Wars energy. But now, these new AI NPCs? Not even close.
First off, no music or cool intro. They don't have any strong presence. Also, their voices sound kind of weird, like flat and not really emotional. It’s easy to tell the voice is from a robot, not a real person. Some players say it takes you out of the mood.
Maybe This Is the Future Direction?
Epic might be doing this for convenience. With AI, they can add new lines fast, no needing to wait for voice actors. That means updates can come quicker, more quests, more things to do. But then again, the feeling isn’t the same.
People online are already saying they miss the human feeling. When someone talks to you in a game, you wanna feel it real. AI just doesn’t give that. But then again, more talking NPCs are better than silent ones, maybe?
So, these AI-voice NPCs are in Fortnite now. They’re okay for guests, but not memorable. When you think about Darth Vader or other special events, this just doesn’t compare. Still, it's possible Epic will keep using this way. If players don't like it, maybe they will adjust it later. But for now, don’t expect too much fun from these robot-talking characters.
