Fortnite Pets Might Return as New Companions with a Big Twist

The latest leak in the Fortnite community has provided XDA Developers with interesting information about the possibility of the reintroduction or redesign of one of the more whimsical cosmetic additions to the game- pets. Pets were firstly implemented as back bling items in the previous seasons, and they provided a cute element to the in-game persona of players. Yet, they slowly went out of the limelight, leading to speculation as to whether the idea had been completely scrapped by Epic Games. New information now points to a possible resurrection, however, there is a key twist in the way these companions will operate.

 

As per details provided by leading Fortnite data miners, it seems that pets are being rellvm work, such that they will only be visible to the player and their squadmates in matches. This is quite a contrast to their initial design, in which pets appeared to all players on the map. This suggested visibility limit appears to be a careful step on the part of Epic Games, in its attempt to preserve visual clarity and competitiveness. The developers seem to be fixing potential issues where enemies might see pets and use that to determine a player location or get distracted in a high-stakes situation by cosmetics items that were back bling, which may give away a player location accidentally.

In addition to the visibility switch, the leak has led to speculation of more extensively customization options or interactive pet behaviors. Although it is not clear what exactly is planned, a lot of people in the community are wishing to see elements like synchronized emotes, idle animations, or even player-reactionary actions. These additions would help pets be more than just a cosmetic addition but rather make them more lively and expressive companions that would enrich the Fortnite experience.

Player reaction has been mostly positive, especially long-time fans who recall the initial designs of pets. It seems that Epic Games listens to its community again, as there are methods to make personalization better without damaging the quality of the gameplay.
