Explore Fortnite v36.10 update with new Boom Bolt weapon, Dusty Dunes expansion, fresh augments, and key bug fixes for smoother gameplay.

Epic Games has launched v36.10 update for Fortnite and it’s bringing lots of stuff and changes that players will be seeing in Chapter 6 Season 3. From new weapons to a few fixes here and there, the update aims to change up things a bit. Let’s take a look at what all is included.

New Weapon

Boom Bolt has now been added in the game, and it’s one of them explosive type of crossbows. It shoots bolts which blow up when they hit enemies or walls, and deal good damage. This one can be found inside chest boxes, supply drops and even some NPCs can give them.

Players already started using it because it can go through building and damage groups, especially in Zero Build mode where cover is not too strong.

Map Updates

One of the most noticeable changes is coming in Dusty Dunes area. The desert part got more buildings, loot spaces and even some hidden tunnel parts underground. It looks like they are making this area more hot zone now.

Jungle side of the map also got small tweaks. Water areas and bridges changed little bit for better movements and rotating around fights.

Reality Augments

v36.10 brought two fresh augmentations:

  • Ammo Drop – When player eliminates someone, they now get extra ammo for all their weapons.

  • No Fall Fun – After using launchpad or geyser, no fall damage happens for a while.

These augments seem to be helping those who like moving quickly and play an aggressive style. Especially helpful in mid and late game fights.

Competitive Modes

For those playing in Arena or tournaments, the Boom Bolt was temporarily taken out because it was causing balance issues. Developers said they’re looking at feedback and performance before it comes back to competitive modes.

Storm circle timings are also made tighter a bit, which means endgame fights happen faster and not dragging too long.

Bug Fixes and Other Improvements

This patch fixed a few things:

  • Swapping weapons while running now works properly.

  • Augments not disappearing anymore mid match.

  • Game runs smoother on Switch and PC, with frame drops reduced.

Matchmaking was also tuned so queues don’t take long and ping stays stable more often.

The v36.10 patch may not be biggest update, but still brings fun stuff like the Boom Bolt and new map areas. With augments giving different gameplay chances and fixes making game smoother, it’s a good step ahead. More content probably coming as summer events begin rolling soon.
