G2 Esports defeats Sentinels 3-1 in the VCT Americas Grand Final, both teams qualify for Masters.

In a much-awaited rematch, G2 Esports won 3-1 against Sentinels in the VCT Americas Stage 1 Grand Final, ending a dominant playoff campaign. With this victory, G2 wins their second major title of the year and solidifies their position atop the North American Valorant landscape.

Both Sentinels and G2 have now secured spots for the next Masters event in Toronto, with MIBR joining in as the third seed of the region.

G2's Road to Redemption

Before facing G2 in the grand final, MIBR played a nail-biting lower bracket final against them. In spite of already qualifying for the Masters, G2 went to the server with determination and firepower, defeating the Brazilian team 3-1. Among their top players were leaf and trent. Leaf dropped an impressive 87 kills throughout the four-map series, while Trent's overall play on Tejo made him the highest-rated player throughout the playoffs.

G2's resilience in the face of economic pressure was also a clinching factor. Mastering low-buy rounds, especially with pistols and Stingers, they aborted MIBR's momentum at pivotal moments. On the deciding map of Ascent, they converted frugal buys into round victories, which sealed the game 13-8.

MIBR Secures Historic Qualification

While MIBR came up short in the lower final, their third-place finish was sufficient to earn them their first-ever qualification to a Masters-level event. As the Americas' third seed, they will have to make their way through the Swiss Stage in Toronto, but the achievement is a significant milestone for the team after another top-three finish that is similar to their VCT Kickoff performance earlier this year.

The grand final once more pitted G2 and Sentinels against each other in what has proven to be one of the region's most heated rivalries. G2 held it down for much of the match despite Sentinels' best efforts to reclaim their previous loss, taking the series 3-1 and keeping Sentinels from having a chance at their own first title of the year.

With both teams now headed to Toronto, fans can look forward to this rivalry carrying on internationally as G2 looks for more glory and Sentinels look for revenge in a future rematch.
