The calm before the storm, that’s where we’re at. Genshin Impact’s version 5.8 update is officially on the horizon, with the maintenance schedule already locked in. While servers will be temporarily down, they’ll come back swinging with a new 5-star Electro character, Archon content, and perhaps a new map to explore. Let’s get into it, because this update? It is packed to the brim.

Maintenance Schedule For Genshin Impact 5.8

The global server maintenance for Genshin Impact 5.8 will begin on July 30, 2025, at 6:00 AM (UTC+8). Servers are expected to go back up by 11:00 AM (UTC+8). The maintenance will have a downtime window of about 5 hours. Here are all the timings broken down per region:

What Will Genshin Impact 5.8 Bring?

Players can expect a new 5-Star Character, archon quest, limited-time events, map changes with new weapons, and artifact sets

New 5-Star Character

Players will get an Electro 5-star character named Ineffa, a long-awaited 5-star with a kit built around team utility. Her banner will go live as soon as the maintenance ends, and from what it looks like, the current Spiral Abyss meta will go down alongside.

Archon Quest

We can expect a brand new Archon quest to drop post-update, titled The Journey Home. While there are no spoilers here, we can expect it to build on previous lore threads.

Limited-Time Events And Map Changes 

While we don’t have any specifics for now, leaks have suggested potential updates to existing areas or even a small expansion.

New Weapons And Artifact Sets
