Genshin Impact 5.8 Phase 1: Ineffa Debuts, Banners & Events from July to August

Genshin Impact’s Version 5.8 is going to start with its first half of content on July 30, 2025, and go on till August 19. The opening banners got the debut of Ineffa, who’s a five-star Electro polearm character, and also saw the return of Citlali, who plays the Cryo catalyst support role. There’s also Fischl, Xingqiu, and Sethos coming in as four-star rate-ups, so players get some variety to work with when it comes to different team setups.

The weapon banner is featuring Fractured Halo and Starcaller’s Watch as the main five-star pulls. Alongside them are four-star options like Favonius Codex, Sacrificial Greatsword, Sturdy Bone, Mountain-Bracing Bolt, and Favonius Warbow. These ones are supporting builds that need energy recharge or are looking for balanced stats depending on the team.

Major and Secondary Events During Phase 1

Sunspray Summer Resort is the main event this time, bringing a permanent area to the map called Easybreeze Holiday Resort. It runs from July 30 to August 18 and includes four different game types: exploration, painting, rhythm fights, and skill-based challenges, all giving a more festive kind of feel while still offering solid rewards.

Then there’s Tracing Vanishing Trails, which begins on August 14 and lasts till August 25. It’s more story-heavy and has Yelan taking part, with some resource drops and Primogems available. After that, Mementos of Teyvat: Prelude of the Frozen Veil starts August 21 through September 1, and that one is more relaxed, focusing on photography around the world.
Ley Line Overflow closes out the phase from September 1 to September 8. That one’s all about getting extra resources through repeatable combat nodes.

This first half of the 5.8 update mixes in character hype with some relaxed and grind-heavy moments, giving players ample room to experiment or just stock up before what’s coming next.
