The big news was shared on the anime’s official X account in September 2024, and fans are thrilled. It’s been almost six years since Season 1 aired in 2018, making this return a long-awaited one for the beloved comedy series.

The new season continues the story of Iori Kitahara, a college freshman who just wanted a peaceful life in Izu. But those plans quickly fall apart thanks to the wild and crazy Peek-a-Boo diving club. Having finished his diving course in Okinawa, Iori is returning home but the madness and fun are not yet over, both on land and sea!
Grand Blue Dreaming is adapted from the hit manga by Kenji Inoue and Kimitake Yoshioka. Fans love it for its crazy comedy, fun college life moments, and true love for diving. The manga started in 2014 and is still going strong, bringing the same fun and energy to the anime.

 

 

A Smooth Comeback 

Season 2 will see the return of Shinji Takamatsu, director and writer for season one. He’s great at adding funny one-liners and showing how the characters get along. That’s a big reason why the show was such a hit. Fans can look forward to more of that in the new episodes.

Meanwhile, the ending theme is titled “Hadaka de Dotsukiai feat. May’n” by SEAMO, a track that promises to match the anime’s wild, laugh-out-loud tone. Both themes were previewed in the official trailer, adding even more excitement for fans counting down to the release.
