Honkai: Star Rail 3.4 Leak Teases Major Collaboration and New Characters

A new batch of leaks for the Star Rail's forthcoming Version 3.4 update has appeared online, detailing new characters, a big-name collaboration, and major event information. Although Version 3.3 has just hit live, boasting Hyacine and a re-run of Herta, fans are already turning their gaze to what comes next. These initial glimpses tell us that Version 3.4, which is allegedly called "For the Sun is Set to Die," will feature a number of thrilling additions that may greatly broaden the universe of the game.

New Five-Star Characters Steal the Show

The headline reveal from the leak is the introduction of Phainon, a new 5-star character poised to lead the first phase of the upcoming update. Phainon, described as a towering figure with striking white hair, gold-lined attire, and asymmetrical armor, belongs to the Chrysos Heirs—a faction within the game's lore known for their mission to hunt Titans and retrieve their Coreflames. Players first encountered him during the Silver Chariot storyline alongside the character Tribbie.

As per the leaked information, Phainon is to be on the Path of Destruction, which is generally a characteristic of high DPS characters. His banner is to become available on July 2, coinciding with the release of Version 3.4.

Along with Phainon, two additional 5-star characters are to be introduced—Saber and Archer—under a freshly announced crossover event.

Fate/Stay Night: Unlimited Blade Works Crossover

Perhaps the most hyped aspect of the leak is the upcoming crossover between Honkai: Star Rail and the fan-favorite anime series Fate/Stay Night. The crossover will be based on the Unlimited Blade Works route specifically, a fan-favorite adaptation from 2014 that reinterpreted one of the main routes from the original visual novel.

As part of this event, Saber and Archer, two of the Fate series' most well-known characters, will be featured in a special collab banner. The event banner will exist outside of the game's standard warp system, including its own pity system, to make sure that it won't influence normal or limited-time pulls. The collab is set to begin sometime around a week after Version 3.4 goes live and run to the end of Version 3.6.

New Narrative and Adventure with the Astral Express

Aside from characters, the leak also teases a new narrative path with the Astral Express members. Players will allegedly embark on a new quest with a Stellarion as the focus, meeting new characters and digging deeper lore. While specific storylines are being kept under wraps, the reference to a Stellarion implies a cosmic-themed storyline with possible new in-game areas.

What to Look Out for Down the Line

With HoYoverse continuing its consistent six-week update schedule for Honkai: Star Rail, these leaks hint that the 3.4 update is going to be one of the most content-laden patches so far. With the combination of new characters and high-profile crossover content, Version 3.4 is shaping up to be a big deal for both old timers and new players, especially for those who are fans of anime crossovers as well.
