How to block and unblock players in VALORANT

Toxicity and tilted games are part of any competitive online experience and VALORANT is no exception here. Now, this may be due to a toxic teammate spamming voice chat or someone spouting negativity in text. However, that doesn’t mean you have to let them affect your mood or performance. VALORANT gives you the option to block players, which silences their messages and voice comms entirely. And if things cool down later? You can always unblock them with just a few clicks. Let's see how to do this.

How to Block Players in VALORANT

This is a pretty simple task. To block any player, just follow these steps:

From the Friends List

1. Open VALORANT and go to your social panel (this is the right side of the screen).
2. Find the player on your friends list.
3. Right-click on their name. This will pop up a few options. You will find the block option last.
4. Click “Block”, this will mute both text and voice communication from them.

From Match History or In-Game

1. Go to your match history under your Career tab.
2. Click on the match, then click the player's name that you wish to block.
3. You can also right-click a player in the scoreboard while in-game and select Block during or after play.

Following these steps, you will neither hear nor see any messages from such a player unless you choose to unblock them. They can nevertheless view your profile and send invites, but you won't receive messages or voice input

How to Unblock Players in VALORANT

Unblocking players is also a simple task; just open up VALORANT and log into your account like you normally would. Then, locate settings.

1. Inside the settings, you’ll see multiple tabs across the top. Click on the one labeled “General.”
2. Scroll down through the General tab until you spot the section titled “Blocked Players.”
3. Next to the Blocked Players heading, click on the button that says “See Blocked Player List.” This will open a list showing all the players you’ve blocked so far.
4. You can scroll through your list and locate the player you wish to unblock. After finding them, click on their name and choose the "Unblock" option
