How to Unlock Firearms in KCD2

Henry’s first encounter with firearms occurs during the "Finger of God" quest. However, players might hear whispers of gunpowder earlier in the "Opus Magnum" side quest, offered by a Miller in Lower Semine.

During "Finger of God," Henry teams up with Godwin in Nebakov, where they meet Hertel, a bandit familiar with these new weapons. Hertel introduces Henry to the pistole, an early handgun that fires lead balls using gunpowder.

In this quest, Hertel provides a hands-on tutorial on firearm usage:

1. Charge the handgonne from your inventory.
2. Right-click to charge this takes a few seconds due to the weapon’s slow but powerful nature.
3. Right-click to aim stamina drains while aiming, affecting accuracy.
4. Press left-click to fire delivering a deadly shot.

Upon completing the tutorial, Henry receives a hand cannon and 20 lead balls, marking the official introduction of firearms to his arsenal.

Where to Buy & Upgrade Firearms

Since guns are a rare and advanced technology in the game’s setting, they aren’t available in standard shops. Players must progress to Kuttenberg, which unlocks in the second half of the game.

Once in Kuttenberg, head to the Caslavska Gate in the east, where you’ll find Gunmaker Prokop Eldris, the sole merchant selling firearms. His inventory includes:

• Various handgonnes (priced between 200 and 1,200 Groschen)
• Ammunition and gunpowder
• Gun kits for repairs
