IO Interactive, the people who made those Hitman games that everyone talks about, now they finally show 007 First Light. The trailer was dropped in Sony’s State of Play thing on June 4, 2025, and fans are now looking forward to it. This game is going to be an action-adventure with single-player only, no multiplayer they said. It will come in 2026 on PS5, Xbox Series consoles, PC, and even Nintendo Switch 2 which is a bit surprising.
007 First Light: Bond, But Not As We Know Before
This game isn’t just another Bond mission. No, here we see James when he was only 26, before becoming the 007 that everyone knows. He starts off in the Royal Navy and later goes on a risky mission to find Agent 009 who has gone rogue. So yeah, it’s like an origin but different way. You don’t just shoot everybody—you can sneak or go loud, kind of like in Hitman but not the same.
IOI said the game gonna give players choices on how to play, like if you wanna sneak around or just fight your way. They are using what they learned from Hitman, so hopefully, it is working well in this new Bond thing.
Bond’s New Voice Is a Surprise
The person who will be playing Bond in voice is Patrick Gibson, the actor from Dexter: Original Sin. Not many people expected that maybe. He has not been in the movie Bond yet, but who knows, maybe this will be a step for future films, some are guessing that online. Officially, they haven’t said anything about that.

Tech Looks Fancy
IO Interactive is using their own Glacier Engine which makes graphics very smooth and sharp. For PlayStation 5 Pro they made special features like better frame rate and something called PlayStation Spectral Super Resolution (which sounds high-tech but not sure how it works exactly). They say you can play in 60 FPS even on Quality Mode, which is not bad.
Also the game is releasing on all big platforms like Xbox Series X, PC via Steam and Epic, and Switch 2 which many weren’t expecting but yeah, good for those who play on that.
This is the first time in a long while a James Bond game has come again, the last one was like 2012 or something. IOI said they want to make a trilogy from this, starting with First Light. The idea is to let players grow with Bond, not just jump into him being a perfect spy already.
The trailer has all the Bond things: cars, gadgets, explosions, cool music… the usual. But also it shows Bond not being so confident yet, which is something new. 007 First Light might change how people see James Bond in video games now.
