  • July 21, 2025 (UPDATED: July 22, 2025 18:04 IST)

Kaiju No. 8 game hits 500K pre-registrations, reveals Gen Narumi trailer and demo highlights.

Kaiju No. 8 THE GAME has now already crossed 500,000 pre-registrations all over the world. With this number being reached, all who join early will receive the four-star character “[Aiming for Greater Heights] Mina Ashiro” when the game release happens. The next goal is set at 850,000. If that target is hit, then another special reward comes—“[Blade Specialist] Soshiro Hoshina.” The developer team has already made this reward system part of their pre-registration campaign, so more people will join.

At the same time, a brand-new trailer for Gen Narumi was shared. He is the head of the Defense Force’s First Division. In the trailer, his gameplay is shown, along with a new art that displays how he looks in-game. His style in battle was also highlighted, giving fans more interest.

Anime Expo 2025 Let Fans Try the Game First

A few weeks back, Kaiju No. 8 THE GAME was also shown during Anime Expo 2025. There, people can try a demo version before the full launch. This demo had a turn-based battle system and movie-style graphics that gave an idea of how the full game will feel. The reaction from fans was strong; many liked how the story and fights are coming together.

The booth at the event had different activities too. Visitor can make their own Japan Defense Force (JDF) ID cards, and look at promotion displays that were related to characters and missions. The developer also said the game will have original stories and new characters that do not appear in manga or anime. So players will see more things than just what was in original series.

This game is being developed by Akatsuki Games together with TOHO and Production I.G. It is going to be a role-playing game with a cinematic feel, and it focuses on turn-based fights with a deep story. The full launch is planned sometime late in 2025.
