Leading the new additions is Sagan Shinomiya, the commander of a newly established unit known as CLOZER—short for "Closing Order with Zero Restrictions." This group takes the lead in investigating the sudden emergence of mysterious Kaiju Dimensional Gates. Akari Kito, known for voicing Nezuko in Demon Slayer, will voice Shinomiya.
Kaiju No. 8 Mobile Game New Enemies Cross Dimensions
Details from the recent Kaiju No. 8: Defense Force Boot Camp event in Yokohama revealed the premise. In this game’s version of the Kaiju No. 8 world, powerful creatures with unknown origins are appearing not only in Japan but across the globe. These threats include former Kaiju once thought to be defeated, now returning through the Dimensional Gates.
Even more dangerous are new Kaiju with unique powers, believed to be the cause of these portals. These creatures have begun to invade from other dimensions, triggering battles with massive Kaiju that threaten global stability.
A New Chapter in a Popular Franchise
The game expands the universe of Kaiju No. 8, a popular manga created by Naoya Matsumoto and published on Shueisha’s Shonen Jump+ platform. An English version is available from VIZ Media.
The franchise also includes an anime adaptation produced by Production I.G. and directed by Shigeyuki Miya and Tomomi Kamiya. The series features scriptwork from Ichiro Okouchi (Mobile Suit Gundam: The Witch from Mercury), character design by Tetsuya Nishio (Naruto), and music by Yuta Bando (BELLE).
Crunchyroll summarizes the anime’s story as Kafka Hibino, once aspiring to join the Defense Force, reconnects with his promise to protect humanity after meeting a determined young recruit named Reno Ichikawa. As Kaiju threats intensify, the battle to defend Earth gains new urgency—both in the anime and now, the upcoming game.
