Kingdom Season 6 Confirmed for October 2025 Premiere

Good news for Kingdom anime fans! Season 6 is coming in October 2025 on NHK General. The announcement was made on X (formerly Twitter) with a new teaser image. It shows a strong warrior in blue armor holding a long weapon—most likely the main character, Shin.

A Journey Through Ancient China Continues

Kingdom is based on a manga by Yasuhisa Hara and is set during China’s Warring States period, a time of war and fighting for power. The story follows Shin, a young war orphan who dreams of becoming the greatest general under King Ying Zheng, who later becomes the first emperor of China.
 

The manga started in 2006 and has grown to 75 volumes, with over 110 million copies sold worldwide. Season 6 will continue the exciting Qin vs. Zhao war arc, filled with big battles and smart strategies. Fans can look forward to more action and emotional moments as Shin gets closer to his dream.

Production and Cast Return

The anime is once again being made by Studio Pierrot and Studio Signpost, the same teams that have worked on it since it started in 2012. Season 5 director Kenichi Imaizumi is expected to return, along with the main voice cast. Masakazu Morita is back as Shin, Jun Fukuyama as Ying Zheng, and Rie Kugimiya as He Liao Diao. Season 5 also brought in new characters, voiced by well-known actors like Toshiyuki Morikawa, Daisuke Hirakawa, and Koji Ishii, making the cast even better.

 

A Legacy of Animation

Over the past decade, Kingdom has released 132 episodes across five seasons. The Kingdom anime started in 2012 with 38 episodes, and Season 2 had 39. After a short break, Season 3 came out in 2021 with 26 episodes. Seasons 4 and 5 followed, with 26 and 13 episodes. Each season kept fans hooked with strong stories and exciting animation.

Great news for international fans, VIZ Media will begin releasing the Kingdom manga in English in Fall 2025, right when the new anime season starts. This will let fans dive even deeper into the story and its characters.

Crunchyroll is still streaming Kingdom worldwide, sharing the story of Shin and his friend Hyou. They started as war orphans dreaming of becoming great warriors—a dream that would help shape the future of a nation.
