Gen.G dominates the international stage, winning their second LAN title of 2025, $600,000 prize, AGAL finishes runner up and won $3,20,000.
South Korean team Gen.G has once again proven why they are one of the best teams in LoL currently. They are still to be beat in 2025. In the grand finals, Gen.G beats the Chinese team AG.AL with a tight 3-2 score. By the way, if you don't know, let me tell you that this is their third consecutive international title; the last two were MSI 2024 and MSI 2025.
Both Gen.G and AL entered the tournament directly into the playoffs, thanks to their top-four finishes at MSI 2025. Gen.G crushed FlyQuest first and then defeated G2 Esports in a closely contested semifinal. On the other hand, AG.AL defeated Hanwha Life and T1 both with a 2-0 sweep. This way, the grand finals stage was set between Gen.G and AG.AL.
As the math began, Gen.G just dominated the first two games single-handedly. They had good control of the whole map, taking objectives and winning every fight. AL couldn’t really do much, and both games ended in under 30 minutes. It looked super one-sided.
However, AL didn’t give up either. In Game 3, they came back with a bit of a change in their strategy. For example, they opted for fast play execution, winning small fights at a time, and staying ahead of Gen.G in the mid-game. They kept that energy going into Game 4, too, where it was a messy, back-and-forth brawl, but they managed to hang on and push it to Game 5.
In the final game, Gen.G held their nerve and decided to play calmly and smartly. Their rotations were sharp, and their teamwork was also on point. Ultimately, they completely outshone AL, wrapping things up in under 30 minutes. Kiin stood out big time for his time and took home the Finals MVP for his solid and clutch plays.
As mentioned earlier, this is their third consecutive and second title of this year. They also keep their insane 26-match win streak alive as they haven’t lost a series in 2025. On top of that, they bag $600,000 and are ready to repeat their performance at Worlds 2025.
