Manjuu’s Azur Promillia Closed Beta: Visual Enhancements and Fresh Gameplay Explained

Azur Promillia's closed beta reveals visual upgrades, new combat modes, and deeper Kipo mechanics.

The game Azur Promillia, developed by the Manjuu team, has received a new Closed Beta. Only Chinese players get it for now, not everyone. According to them, the global version will arrive later. The recent test has brought to light significant changes across the game this time, from both design and action perspectives, getting updated.

Everything Look Different Now, Fights Are Also More Complicated

And then this world, Promelia, has all these weirdly looking locations. Giant mushrooms, floating sky islands, and critters you wouldn't find elsewhere. Players are called Psychics, or Star Spirits, and they don't travel alone, they've got these tiny guys called Kipo in tow with them.

One of the characters, Terara, had modifications. Her tail has more fluff, and the feathers are more detailed. Lighting is improved, too. The graphics they are more shiny now. Even how things move is more realistic than it used to be.

Combat has also been modified. You can now take three friends and three Kipo to a battle. They all received their types of powers. They introduced a big boss as well, and it had mechanics such as:

  • Kipo is performing high-impact skills attacks now
  • Combo moves through Star Fusion stuff
  • Dodging that results in counterattacks if you do it in time

Kipo Not Just Decorations No More

These Kipo animals were sort of just drifting around, but now they respond to things. Some play dead when you handle them, others merely run, or do strange things with the environment. It's more dynamic like that.

At your base, too, Kipo is assisting. They are doing activities like planting, carrying things, and they even mount now. Like you can ride Blue Rain, who flies, or Master He Li, who swims in water locations.

And they threw in another feature, Kipo Duel Mode. You assemble a team of Kipo, then head out and duel another team in real time. You can issue commands while fighting and attempt to blow up the enemy's crystal. Strategy is required here, not simply button-mashing.

Characters Look New, Some Act New Too

The developers have inserted some new faces, and some of them got revamped. They made character combat more emotional and fluid in motion. Even heavy attacks now include swirly camera spins.

Some characters who were only in concept art before being in the current game as also. They do not all unlock immediately, however. They intend to unlock more down the line, likely later in the test.

Overall, with this beta update, From characters to world material, everything is more content-rich. There are still more updates to come while the test is running, so perhaps more surprises down the line. The players simply need to wait and observe.
