Blade is finally coming to Marvel Rivals, and it’s about time. Ever since season 1, his existence has been an open secret with the leaks, teasers, and speculations within the community. Now, Blade is finally hitting the game with a confirmed release window, but... Is he even worth the wait? And when will he arrive? Let’s get into it
When Will Blade Be Released In Marvel Rivals?
Blade will be released in the 3.5 update of Marvel Rivals, arriving on 8 August 2025. Blade, for those in the dark, is an aggressive DPS duelist with 300 HP. While leaks are subject to change, it’s generally thought that despite his anti-healing ability, if he inflicts damage, he would be able to heal himself, but that’s not all. With new leaks showing his abilities and icons, here’s what Blade will look like:
Blade’s Abilities And Icon Looks
Blade’s abilities support his aggressive nature. Here are all the abilities according to leaks:
1st Primary fire (Blade Chopper)
This ability uses Dracula’s sword to slash forward and inflict damage.
2nd Primary fire (Hunting Gun)
The hunting shotgun fires a long-range shot and explodes, sending a large amount of fragmentation at the point of detonation.
Ultimate (Q)
After building your strength up for a short time, Blade will quickly unsheathe his sword and then charge forward, while releasing a powerful chop as Dracula’s sword quickly cleans the area behind you.
Shift Ability (Step and Chop)
This allows players to sprint forward, if wielding a gun: you can apply healing reduction. If you’re wielding a sword, you can slash the enemy while applying reduced movement speed.
E Ability (Blood Liberation)
Activates vampiric bloodline, all blood becomes Dracula’s, and you gain a stronger sense, but you can’t be healed at this time. You can restore Dracula’s blood by inflicting damage.
Right Click Ability (Damage Block)
This ability sets up a defensive stance that reduces frontal damage.
Overall, Blade seems like a fun character to play for both players and healers, who won’t get blamed by DPS anymore due to his anti-heal ability. With his kit focused on giving damage, he’s a more aggressive duelist, and his E ability gives him enough survivability to support that. He seems like a decent hero who won't be too overpowered and would be a fun main. What do you think?
