The Marvel Rivals Championship (MRC) is here! It’s an exciting new esports tournament by NetEase Games, bringing the best Marvel Rivals players together to compete. The first season, called Season 0: Doom’s Rise, starts December 8, 2024, and runs until January 6, 2025. Here's a simple guide to help you understand the tournament.
Marvel Rivals Championship Tournament Schedule
The championship has three main stages:

Open Qualifiers (December 14-15, 2024)
- Open to players from North America, Europe, and Asia.
- The best teams (called factions) will move to the next round.

Closed Qualifiers (December 21-22, 2024)
- Top factions from the Open Qualifiers compete in tougher matches.
- Only the best will move to the final stage.

Knockout Stage (December 27, 2024 - January 6, 2025)
- Teams will play in a double-elimination format, meaning they have two chances before being knocked out.
- This stage ends with the grand finals to decide the champion.

How to Join the Championship
To take part, players need to meet these rules:
- Faction Size: Be in a faction (team) with at least six members.
- Rank: Players must have a minimum rank of Silver III in the game.
- Age: Be at least 16 years old (18 for players in China).
- Account Rules: Players must follow the game’s rules and have no past violations.

There are awesome prizes for the top players and factions:
- Prize Pool: The top 256 factions will share $14,500.
- Top Faction: The winning team gets $6,000 and special recognition.
- Top 32 Teams: Permanent in-game titles to show off their skills.
- Top 8 Teams: Unique nameplates as exclusive rewards.
