Marvel Rivals: How to Get and Use Unstable Molecules; Check Details

  • April 22, 2025 (UPDATED: April 22, 2025 12:35 IST)

Unstable Molecules are used exclusively for recolouring existing costumes. You must own the base skin before you can apply any custom variant.

Marvel Rivals has never been about heroic moments and epic battles alone, but now it's introducing an entirely new level of personalisation with the release of Unstable Molecules. Released on April 17, 2025, this update, a fresh type of in-game money, allows you to unlock unique recolour costumes for your favourite heroes, which will allow you to customise the look of your character and stand out on the battlefield.

Whether you're an old-school player eager to revive your heroes or a new player thrilled to experience the world of customisation, Unstable Molecules presents an entertaining, fashionable means to take your experience to the next level.

How to Get Unstable Molecules in Marvel Rivals

Unstable Molecules can’t be bought directly. Instead, they’re acquired by converting Lattice, the game’s premium currency, at a 1:1 ratio. One Unstable Molecule costs one Lattice, so yes, real money is involved unless you're earning Lattice through the free Battle Pass.

Here’s a breakdown of Lattice pricing:

  • 100 Lattice – $0.99.
  • 500 Lattice – $4.99.
  • 1,000 Lattice – $9.99.
  • 2,180 Lattice – $19.99.
  • 5,690 Lattice – $49.99.
  • 11,680 Lattice – $99.99.

Currently, there’s no grindable in-game method to earn Unstable Molecules. However, free Battle Pass tiers occasionally include Lattice, so patient players can gradually save up and unlock customisations over time.

How to Use Unstable Molecules

Unstable Molecules are used exclusively for recolouring existing costumes. You must own the base skin before you can apply any custom variant.

Here’s how to spend them:

  1. Go to the Heroes tab in the main menu.
  2. Choose your hero and open the Cosmetics section.
  3. Select the base skin.
  4. Click on the recolour option at the bottom right.
  5. Hit Purchase – 600 Unstable Molecules.
  6. Confirm your Lattice conversion.
  7. Enjoy your new look.

Each recolour costs 600 Unstable Molecules, so choose wisely, especially if you're playing for free.

Whether you're repping your favourite hero or just want to bring some style to the chaos, Unstable Molecules are your ticket to a more personalised Marvel Rivals experience.
