Marvel Rivals Ignite revealed with $3M prize pool, spanning five global regions this May.
NetEase Games has officially declared Marvel Rivals Ignite, a brand new global esports competition based on its hero shooter franchise Marvel Rivals, with a record-breaking $3 million (~£2.26 million) prize pool. It will start in May 2025 and will run across five major competitive regions: the Americas, EMEA, China, Asia, and Oceania.
Of the entire prize pool, $1 million (~£753,800) is reserved for the Grand Finals, the largest one-time payout in competitive history in the game. This release represents an ambitious effort by NetEase to create a healthy, well-known esports environment for Marvel Rivals.
While particular tournament structures, timings, and team information are kept confidential, NetEase did assure us that additional information will be released in the near future. It is still unclear if the competition will be open registration-based, similar to the earlier Marvel Rivals Championships, or if it will be limited to invited teams.
The size and scope of Marvel Rivals Ignite dwarf all past events for the franchise. The last peak was a $500,000 prize pool, spread across a series of regional Invitationals — and that makes this new announcement a dramatic increase in competitive investment.
It was revealed through the Marvel Rivals official social media accounts, complemented by action-packed promotional text inviting fans to "bear witness to glory, perseverance, and raw cinema." It highlighted globality and high stakes for the competition as the championship title players seek.

This comes on the heels of a busy recent tournament slate surrounding Marvel Rivals, such as the xQc Invitational and standard PlayStation Cups. This action seems to be part of an acceleration in activity by NetEase to revitalize the competitive environment after many saw a diminishment in momentum following the release of Season 2.
