Marvel Rivals Season 2: Release Date, Hellfire Gala Theme & Leaked Heroes

  • Yashna Talwar
  • February 27, 2025 (UPDATED: February 27, 2025 11:23 IST)

Marvel Rivals Season 2 is expected to launch on April 11, 2025, with a possible Hellfire Gala theme. Leaks hint at new heroes like Blade, Wong, and X-Men characters—here’s what to expect!

Marvel Rivals kicked things off with Season 0 back in December 2024, giving players a taste of what’s to come. Then, Season 1 launched on January 10, 2025, delivering the first major content drop—including Fantastic Four heroes and plenty of chaos.

Now, with the 1.5 midseason update live and The Thing and Human Torch officially in the mix, fans are already speculating about Season 2. A small in-game teaser might have even spilled the beans on what’s coming next.

Let’s break it all down!

When Does Marvel Rivals Season 2 Start?

Expected release: April 11, 2025

Season 1 is set to last about three months and is split into two halves. Based on that timeline, Season 2 will likely arrive on April 11—though we’ll have to wait for official confirmation.

Season 2 Theme: The Hellfire Gala

Every season in Marvel Rivals has a unique theme.

  • Season 0: Doctor Doom’s influence
  • Season 1: The Fantastic Four vs. Dracula’s takeover of New York
  • Season 2: Possibly the Hellfire Gala?

Players found a subtle hint in an in-game Gallery Card that states: “Doom has a gala to attend.” While it might seem like a throwaway line, leaks have already pointed to Hellfire Gala skins coming soon.

For those unfamiliar, the Hellfire Gala is an iconic X-Men event where mutants open their doors to non-mutants in a grand celebration. The comic storyline introduced Cyclops, Jean Grey, Rogue, and Laura Kinney (as Wolverine) as part of the latest X-Men lineup.

Could we see X-Men characters finally joining the roster in Season 2? Fans sure think so!

What’s Coming in Season 2?

Season 1 was huge, bringing four new heroes, new maps, modes, and tons of cosmetics. But devs have already said not every season will be as packed—so expect a slightly smaller drop moving forward.

Here’s what’s likely coming in Season 2:

  • Season 2 Battle Pass
  • 1-2 New Heroes
  • New Team-Up Abilities
  • New Maps & Modes
  • In-Game Events
  • Hero Buffs & Nerfs
  • New Ranked Rewards

Speaking of ranked rewards, Season 2 will introduce fresh unlockable cosmetics for competitive players. No word yet on which skins will be featured, but we’ll keep an eye out!

Leaked Heroes – Who’s Joining the Fight?

Leaks have revealed a ton of upcoming Marvel characters, though some are still in early development. Names that have surfaced include:

  • Deadpool
  • Professor X
  • Ultron
  • Blade
  • Wong (possible in Season 2?)

With the midseason update now live, players even discovered that one of these characters is trapped in the new map. Could this be a teaser for an upcoming release?

Marvel Rivals 2025 Roadmap

If everything stays on schedule, Marvel Rivals will drop a new season every three months. Here’s what the roadmap looks like:

  • Season 1 – January 2025
  • Season 2 – April 2025
  • Season 3 – July 2025
  • Season 4 – October 2025
  • Season 5 – December 2025

While Season 0 was shorter and Season 1 was jam-packed, expect things to settle into a more consistent content cycle moving forward.

We’ll keep you posted on all the latest updates, leaks, and official announcements as they roll in
