Marvel Rivals Season 3: Power of the Phoenix Battle Pass Unveils Legendary Phoenix & Symbiote Skins

Season 3 of Marvel Rivals is nearly here, and the new Battle Pass is full of major skin updates. The theme, Phoenix Force and symbiote aesthetics, is strong, and it does feel well‑planned.

Phoenix Force Skins

There are five legendary Phoenix Force skins. Emma Frost gets a dramatic Phoenix Diamond look that’s giving her more presence than before. Wolverine’s phoenix “Weapon Phoenix” variant has flaming claws, which looks pretty intense. Namor is also wrapped in Phoenix energy, though some players say his design feels too covered up . Plus, there’s Magik and Scarlet Witch sporting Phoenix Force flair in teasers, though we don’t yet know if they’re part of the Pass.

Symbiote Skins

They’ve also added five symbiote-themed skins. Spider‑Man is wearing the black symbiote suit and includes the famous “Evil Dance” emote Jeff the Land Shark becomes a grotesque symbiote version with a new MVP animation. Squirrel Girl now has a symbiote tail variant, Groot’s covered in symbiote tendrils, and Rocket is fang‑collared in his own symbiote form

Free vs Premium Rewards

The Battle Pass runs on a two‑month cycle, so to keep pace, players earn more Chrono Tokens through both Free and Premium tracks. Free tiers offer emotes, sprays, and nameplates like the Phoenix and symbiote-themed gallery cards. Premium ranks unlock the legendary skins, MVP animations, and extra cosmetic items 

Season 3 Launch and Content

Season 3, called The Abyss Awakens, officially arrives July 11, 2025, at around 4 AM ET. That includes the Battle Pass and also introduces Phoenix (Jean Grey) and a brand‑new map. A mid‑season drop on August 8 is expected to bring in Blade and more content. The season is also tied to the larger Knull storyline—Hela becomes “Queen in Black” under Knull’s control in the teaser.

Community Reactions

Feedback is mixed. A Reddit leak lists the skins and many gamers are excited, especially for the Spider-Man symbiote suit. Others note the high count of returning characters and say the palette recolors, such as those for Black Panther and Adam Warlock, feel lazy .
